Remember, once you manage to get that girlโs attention, it is good to have some Spanish conversation starters at hand. Donโt worry about your accent or poor grammar. The fact that you are a โgringoโ might actually seem hot to her.
Flirting in Spanish – Romantic Pick-up Lines
Women love to be flattered and complimented. So donโt be afraid to throw in some romance into your โrecipe for love.โ
Hopefully, you find inspiration in the lines below:
๐ช๐ธ ยฟEstรกs perdida? Porque al cielo hay un largo camino desde aquรญ.
๐ฌ๐ง Are you lost? Because heaven’s a long way from here.
๐ช๐ธ Tienes unos ojos tan bellos, que podrรญas curar hasta a un ciego.

๐ฌ๐ง Iโd like to be a jeweler to be able to appreciate every day a diamond like you.
๐ช๐ธ Si la belleza fuera delito, yo te darรญa cadena perpetua.
๐ฌ๐ง If beauty were a crime, I would sentence you for life.

If you pay attention to the last three phrases, youโll notice that all of them use the same conditional structure.
โFueseโ and โFueraโ are the two possible imperfect subjunctive forms of the verb โSer.โ
Flirting in Spanish – Corny Latin Pick-up Lines
I know I told you not to be afraid to be romantic. But there is a thin line between being โromanticโ and sounding โcheesy.โ
Latinos, I hate to say, have a special โgiftโ for corny compliments.
See for yourself:
๐ช๐ธ Mami, tรบ con tantas curvas y yo sin frenos.
๐ฌ๐ง Baby, youโve got all these curves, and I have no brakes.
๐ช๐ธ Mami, si cocinas tal como te mueves, me comerรฉ el menรบ completo.
๐ฌ๐ง Honey, if you cook as well as you move, I will eat the entire menu.
๐ช๐ธ Muรฑeca, ยฟde quรฉ jugueterรญa te escapaste?
๐ฌ๐ง Doll, what toy store did you escape from?
๐ช๐ธ Tus labios se ven solitos, ยฟquerrรกn conocerse con los mรญos?

๐ฌ๐ง God must be distracted, for angels are falling from the sky.
๐ช๐ธ ยฟAcabas de salir del horno? ยกPorque estรกs caliente!
๐ฌ๐ง Did you just come out of the oven? Because you are hot!
๐ช๐ธ ยฟHace calor aquรญ, o eres tรบ?
๐ฌ๐ง Is it hot in here, or is it just you?
It is so cheesy it is almost funny, isnโt it?
In case youโd like to learn more about this โhotโ Latin language, I highly recommend listening to Reggaeton music. The lyrics of those songs are packed with โmamitaโ, โcalienteโ, and โmovimientos sexiโ (hot moves).
And before I forget: a little piece of warning for my lady readers.
If you happen to travel to a Spanish speaking country, get ready to be complimented a lot. Not always in a pleasant way, though. It has taken me a while to get used to construction workers shouting improprieties after me on the street.
What used to be a surprising boost to my self-esteem, has quickly faded into a dreaded routine. My best advice is to ignore โpiropos callejerosโ (sidewalk compliments).
How to Flirt Back in Spanish – It Takes Two to Tango
So, that brown-eyed Latino has had his eyes on you the whole night? OMG, heโs so hot!
Finally, he mustered some courage, and now heโs heading your way. Why did it take him so long?
If he invites you to dance, what are you going to say?
If your strategy is to play hard to get, act surprised. But if you like the guy, here are some handy replies:
- ๐ช๐ธ Encantada – ๐ฌ๐ง Iโd love to!
- ๐ช๐ธ Llevo toda la noche esperando que me invitaras – ๐ฌ๐ง Iโve been waiting all night for you to invite me.
- ๐ช๐ธ Ya pensรฉ que nunca me ibas a invitar – ๐ฌ๐ง I thought youโd never invite me.
- ๐ช๐ธ ยกClaro! Ademรกs, me encanta esta canciรณn! – ๐ฌ๐ง Sure! Plus, I love this song!
- ๐ช๐ธ ยฟPor quรฉ te demoraste tanto? – ๐ฌ๐ง What took you so long?
- ๐ช๐ธ Feliz! Si no me hubieras invitado tรบ, te habrรญa invitado yo! – ๐ฌ๐ง Iโd be happy to. If you hadnโt asked me, Iโd have asked you myself.
- ๐ช๐ธ No me gusta mucho bailar. Pero sentรฉmonos a conversar. – ๐ฌ๐ง I donโt like dancing too much. But letโs sit down and talk.
And they lived happily ever afterโฆ.
Unwanted Flirting – How to Respond in Spanish
Well, not necessarily. You might simply not like the guy. Or find him creepy. Or be in a relationship with someone else.
Whatever the reason, it is good to know how to say NO in Spanish if someone is hitting on you.
Hereโs how itโs done, depending on whether you want to turn them down nicely or are sick and tired with them stalking you:
- ๐ช๐ธ Me siento halagada, peroโฆ – ๐ฌ๐ง I feel flattered, butโฆ
- ๐ช๐ธ Eres muy tierno, peroโฆ– ๐ฌ๐ง youโre very cute, butโฆ
- ๐ช๐ธ Eres demasiado joven / chico para mรญ – ๐ฌ๐ง Youโre too young for me

- ๐ช๐ธ No hablo con desconocidos – ๐ฌ๐ง I donโt talk to strangers
- ๐ช๐ธ ยกDรฉjame en paz! – ๐ฌ๐ง Leave me alone!
- ๐ช๐ธ ยกNo insistas! – ๐ฌ๐ง Donโt insist!
- ๐ช๐ธ ยกPiรฉrdete! – ๐ฌ๐ง Get lost!
- ๐ช๐ธ ยกDeja de seguirme! – ๐ฌ๐ง Stop stalking me!
Applying the phrases above to real-life situations would look like this:
๐ช๐ธ
A: ยฟQuieres bailar?
B: Gracias, pero eres muy chico para mi. Podrรญas ser mi hijo.
๐ฌ๐ง
A: Do you want to dance?
B: Thanks, but youโre too young for me. You could be my son.

๐ฌ๐ง
A: Can I invite you out to eat? Iโd love to get to know you better.
B: Sorry, but I am not really interested. Iโm sorry to say that, but youโre not my type.
๐ช๐ธ
A: ยฟMe das tu nรบmero?
B: Ya te dije mil veces que no. ยกNo insistas!
๐ฌ๐ง
A: Will you give me your number?
B: Iโve already said no like a thousand times. Donโt insist!
๐ช๐ธ
A: Marรญa, eres el amor de mi vida. ยกCรกsate conmigo!
B: No puedo. No serรญa justo. Solo te quiero como amigo.
๐ฌ๐ง
A: Marรญa, you are the love of my life! Marry me!
B: I canโt. It wouldnโt be fair. I only like you as a friend.
๐ช๐ธ
A: Macarena ยฟpodemos hablar?
B: No tengo nada que decirte. ยกDรฉjame en paz!
๐ฌ๐ง
A: Macarena, ยฟcan we talk?
B: I have nothing to say to you. Leave me alone.
It looks like Macarena just broke that guyโs heart, hasnโt she?
Speaking of which, emotions, feelings, and moods is another fun topic to improve your Spanish vocabulary!
