5 YouTube Channels With English Subtitles for Spanish Learners

YouTube is the next go-to resource many Spanish learners go to after completing a couple of their first Duolingo lessons.

Are you one of them?

Great! It means that you are hungry for something beyond writing and reading lessons that most of the language apps offer.

In order to fast-track your spanish learning journey without spending a dime on online schools or premium app packages, there is no better place than YouTube.

However, many of the so-called Spanish channels for beginners don’t have the subtitles in English. They usually offer only Spanish subtitles, which are oftentimes generated by google’s speech-to-text AI.

This is a common issue many YouTube channels seem to overlook while creating their schooling materials. That’s why we decided to gather a list of spanish channels with english subtitles so you don’t have to waste your time and start learning right away.

Additionally, we marked the channels with the hosts’ origins to help you decide which accent is appealing to you. Secondly, we categorized the channels between total beginners and advanced levels.

Without further ado, let’s explore my favorite YouTube channels for Spanish learners with English subtitles.

1.Spanish & Go

Spanish & Go - my favorite youtube channel for spanish learners

Origins: Mexico 🇲🇽
Languages: Spanish 🇪🇸 & English 🇺🇸
Recommended for: Beginners & Intermediate
Youtube Channel: Spanish & Go

Spanish & Go is hosted by Jim and May, a couple that travels through spanish-speaking countries and makes videos that are very easy to understand for beginners and also useful for those who already got their feet wet with spanish learning.

What I really like about this channel:

  • Consistency of new uploads (new video every week)
  • Situational videos (ie. asking for directions or in the restaurant)
  • Cutting the scenes and explaining each phrase in detail
  • Entertaining way of teaching
  • Quality of videos and the sound

3. EasySpanish

easy spanish - probably the best street channel

Origins: Spain 🇪🇸 Mexico 🇲🇽
Languages spoken: Spanish 🇪🇸 & English 🇬🇧
Recommended for: Beginners & Intermediate
Youtube Channel: EasySpanish

Easy Spanish is a Youtube channel that belongs to a larger non-profit organization easy languages which is hosted by many volunteers across the world. Their style of video is very unique due to the ‘street interviews’ narrative, which makes the content more dynamic as opposed to, say, cartoons in the same style.

What I really like about this channel:

  • Street interviews help you discover various spanish accents
  • English & Spanish subtitles being displayed at the same time (very cool!)
  • Variety of topics, from politics to love and culture
  • Real conversations with zero staging

4. CuriosaMente

curiosamente spanish channel for learners

YouTube Channel: Curiosamente

This youtube channel is different from other ones on this list. CuriosaMente has the same concept as its english brother Kurzgesagt. It explains scientific topics in an easy way with the use of cartoons that help you understand and memorize things faster. There is spanish voice narrative with most of their popular content translated into english.

Despite the fact that the videos are tailored for younger Spanish audiences, sometimes you can face more complex, scientific expressions. Great way to up your Spanish game!

5. HolaSoyGerman

hola soy german - spanish youtube channel

Origins: Chile 🇨🇱
Languages spoken: Spanish 🇪🇸
Recommended for: Intermediate & Advanced
YouTube Channel: HolaSoyGerman.

First, he is not german. It’s his real name.

This list would not be complete without Germán Garmendia who runs the second biggest channel in Spanish. Never heard of him? Consider him the PewDiePie of the Spanish part of youtube.

In short, Germán is a comedian and HolaSoyGerman is his old account, but with tons of english translated content unlike his fresh one – JuegaGerman.

His channel is not an usual go-to source for learning Spanish, however we decided to put him on this list for the following reasons…

What we really like about this channel:

  • You’ll get to know jokes and memes spanish people laugh about
  • He speaks fast – good way to level up your listening comprehension
  • He’ll help you imagine Emma Watson on top of a pizza
